Huskers in the Playoffs

Lincoln -- Former Husker Russ Hochstein will represent Nebraska in the Super Bowl for the second straight season after the New England Patriots rolled to a 41-27 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday.

Hochstein made his first start from the tight end position and helped pave the way for running back Corey Dillion and the Patriots to beat the Steelers in the second-coldest game in Steeler history.  The top-ranked Patriot offense rushed for 126 yards and two touchdowns against the top-ranked Pittsburgh defense. Hochstein, a native of Hartington, Neb., also played one down at fullback late in the second half as the Partiots succesfully converted a fourth and one to seal the AFC title for the second consecutive year.

At Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, the Philadelphia Eagles snapped a three-game lossing streak in the NFC Championship game by flying past the Atlanta Falcons 27-10.

New England and Philadelphia will meet in the Super Bowl on Sunday, Feb. 6, in Jacksonville, Fla., with kickoff scheduled for 5:30 central time.
