Singapore ? Nebraska bowler Shannon Pluhowsky (Phoenix, Ariz.) stands in third place after two days of competition in the 40th annual AMF Bowling World Cup. Shalin Zulkifli of Malaysia leads after two days of competition with a pinfall of 2,818, and average of 235 in 12 games.
Ann-Maree Putney led the women’s division yesterday after six games, but was bumped to second after Zulkili took over with a high game of 279 to boost her overall average to 235. Trailing behind Putney is Pluhowsky, a three-time All-American for the Huskers, with a pinfall of 2,642, and a 220 average.
Qualifying will continue through this Thursday when the top 24 will be decided. The finals take place this Sunday, Dec. 12, at the Superbowl SAFRA Mount Faber facility in Singapore.
