Huskers Continue Preparation for Cyclones

Lincoln- The Nebraska football team continued preparations for its Saturday match-up at Iowa State with a two-hour workout inside Memorial Stadium Wednesday afternoon.

Head Coach Bill Callahan noted that while Cory Ross returned to practice in a limited capacity, Barrett Ruud and Chad Sievers were held out of practice.

“We backed down Barrett Ruud and Chad Sievers today to try and get them rested and healthy for Saturday’s game,” Callahan said. “They will practice tomorrow.”

Callahan also noted that the team is hoping to practice on the grass fields tomorrow in preparations for Saturday’s road contest at Jack Trice Field.

“We have avoided the grass fields somewhat because they have been soggy and damp to the point where as a player, it could fatigue you more,” Callahan said. “But they are preparing them and lining them today so we hope to be on them tomorrow.”

NU continues preparations on Thursday with an afternoon practice in preparation for the 1 p.m. Saturday contest with the Cyclones.
