The Nebraska women’s tennis team will travel to Los Angeles to compete in the Riviera/ITA’s All-American Championships on Oct. 2. The tournament will run through Oct. 10. The pre-qualifying round runs through Oct. 4, and the first round of the tournament begins Oct. 5.
Three Huskers will compete in the singles pre-qualifying round, including two freshmen. Freshman Imke Reimers will see her first action as a Husker when she faces Orsolya Saalai of Washington State on Oct. 2. Another of the Husker’s three newcomers, Ewalina Skaza, will play Cindy Treber of UNLV. Sophomore Milena Schultz Garner will also play on Saturday.
On the doubles courts, two pairs of Huskers will team up for their first matches together. Gitte Ostermann, ranked No. 44 in singles, and Reimers face Rice’s duo of Blair DiSesa and Dominique Karas on Saturday, Oct. 5. Skaza and Schultz-Gardner receive a buy on Saturday and will see action on Sunday.
Ostermann will play Oct. 5 in the first round of the qualifying tournament. Her opponent has yet to be determined.
