Husker Home Run Club Sponsors Meet the Huskers on Oct. 9

Lincoln ? The Husker Home Run Club will sponsor the first opportunity for fans to see the 2005 Huskers on Saturday, Oct., 9, as the Husker Home Run Club will sponsor a "Meet the Huskers" picnic at Hawks Field.

The day begins with a Husker baseball scrimmage from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., with the picnic ? which will include hot dogs, hamburgers and Pepsi products ? taking place on the concourse following the scrimmage.

Head Coach Mike Anderson and the rest of the 2005 Huskers will meet with fans and talk about their goals for the upcoming season. The cost of the picnic is $5 and tickets for the event can be purchased at Hawks Field the day of the scrimmage.

The Oct. 9 scrimmage is the Huskers’ final practice before the annual Red/White Scrimmage that runs Oct. 12-16. More details on the Red/White Scrimmage will be announced later this week.

Nebraska returns 16 letterwinners from a team that finished 36-23 and qualified for the Big 12 Tournament in Arlington, Texas.
