Canadian Softball Team Falls to 1-1 at Olympics

Athens, Greece - The Canadian Olympic Softball team fell to host country Greece, 2-0, on Sunday to fall to 1-1 in the preliminary round of competition at the Olympic Games in Athens, Greece.

Canada was hurt by four errors that led to two unearned runs. Kaila Holtz took the loss for the Canadians, while Sarah Farnworth picked up the win for Greece, which improved to 1-1.

Husker senior-to-be Sheena Lawrick, an infielder for the Canadian team, did not see action against Greece.

Canada continues play in the preliminary round against China at 1:30 a.m. (CDT) Monday morning at Olympic Softball Stadium in Athens.
