Huskers Sign Idaho State Champ

Nebraska women's golf Coach Robin Krapfl announced on Thursday, April 15, that Idaho prep standout Elli Brown signed a National Letter-of-Intent and will join the Huskers for the 2004-05 season.

Coach Krapfl will look at Brown to have an immediate impact on the team.

"Elli has great length and competitiveness," Krapfl said. "Her four Idaho state championships and a 0.8 handicap shows she can get the ball in the hole. I’m very excited about signing Elli. Not only is she an outstanding golfer but she is an outstanding student and person."

A native of Meridian, Idaho, Brown won two 4A high school state championships for Kuna High School. Additionally, Brown has won two Idaho Golf Association Juniors championships to amass a tally of four state championships. Last summer, she posted another title on her resume by totaling a one-under par 72 to win the Dropping Junior Championship. In 2000 and 2001, Brown won the IGA state championships in the 14-15 age division.
