Lincoln- The Husker football team returned from the Easter holiday refreshed, but were forced indoors Monday as cooler temperatures and the threat of rain remained in the area.
Head Coach Bill Callahan said he was glad with the way that practice went today, and was happy to see some players back from injuries.
"We did a lot of good work today," Callahan said. "Coming off a two-day rest, I thought that our guys were rejuvenated. They got themselves recovered somewhat. We got a couple of injured guys back in (Isaiah) Fluellen and also Ross Pilkington, but they just didn’t have enough to finish it out."
The progress that offensive lineman Seppo Evwaraye has made since switching sides of the ball drew Callahan’s praise.
"Seppo’s progress has been the best out of all the newcomers coming over to defense from offense. That is a really big plus."
Coach Callahan also provided some insight into how the Red-White Spring Game would be run.
"The first-team offense and the first-team defense will be on the same team. In our first year, it is important to us that we maintain confidence and continuity. The one thing I do not want to do is split the team and divide any confidence that we have in rhythm and in execution."
The Huskers return to practice on Wednesday and Friday with full-scale drills before concluding spring drills with the annual Red-White Spring Game on Saturday, April 17.
