Lincoln -- The University of Nebraska and Pinnacle Sports Productions have announced that a minimum of 42 regular-season Husker baseball games will be broadcast this season, beginning with the March 6 contest against Minnesota.
Pinnacle Sports will carry the Huskers’ final two games in the Metrodome and all three games from the Aztec Invitational at San Diego’s Petco Park to kick off the 2004 broadcast schedule. The broadcast team of Jim Rose and Gary Sharp will carry all 27 Big 12 contests and non-conference match-ups against Wichita State, Creighton, Minnesota UCLA, San Diego State, San Diego, Boston College, West Virginia, UW-Milwaukee, New Mexico, Northern Colorado and Northern Iowa.
As of press time, Pinnacle Sports Productions had put together a 21-station baseball network, including KLIN 1400 AM in Lincoln, KFAB 1110 AM in Omaha and KRVN 880 AM in Lexington. In addition, all of the Husker games on the Pinnacle Sports Network can be heard for free at Huskers.com.
Pinnacle Sports Productions is in its eighth year producing and marketing live broadcasts of University of Nebraska football, men’s and women’s basketball, volleyball, baseball and softball games. Pinnacle was first awarded the rights on Feb. 9, 1996. The University renewed the Pinnacle contract in the fall of 2003 which extended the contract to July 31, 2011.
In addition to broadcasting Husker games, Pinnacle Sports also provides Sports Nightly, a daily, live call-in show focusing on NU athletics and other area sports. The show runs from 6 to 8 p.m. (central) on Pinnacle’s statewide network. Pinnacle Sports Productions is owned by Paul Aaron of Elkhorn, Neb., and Dale Jensen of Phoenix, Ariz.
