Lincoln ? The University of Nebraska women’s bowling team was ranked first in the inaugural National Collegiate Bowling Coaches Association (NCBCA) poll released this week.
The Huskers, who won all four tournaments during the fall portion of their schedule, topped the first of the three polls voted on by coaches around the country, garnering 562 points, including 11 of the 15 first-place votes. NU was 82 points ahead of second-ranked Wichita State’s total of 480 points and two first-place votes, while Morehead State (440, 1), Pikeville College (434, 1) and West Texas A&M (360) rounded out the top five in the poll, which includes both varsity and club programs.
The Huskers will return to action the weekend of Jan.17-18, when they travel to Maryland for the Bayshore Collegiate Classic.
