Lincoln -- The University of Nebraska football team continued preparations for Saturday’s game with Iowa State by working out for one hour and 50 minutes on Wednesday on the grass fields north of Memorial Stadium.
Head coach Frank Solich was pleased with Wednesday’s practice.
“We went in half-pads today, and I thought it went well,” Solich said. “They moved around very well. We did do some one vs. one work, which is pretty typical for a Wednesday, but they went at it pretty well. We got through it without any injuries.”
Solich also announced that senior fullback DeAntae Grixby is likely lost for the season after reinjuring his left ankle in practice on Tuesday.
“DeAntae will not be able to continue, it looks like he is probably done for the year,” Solich said. “I know he’s really down about that right now, and the recurring injury of his ankle. It doesn’t look like there is any break, but he’s in a boot. He most likely will not play again this year.”
The Huskers will return to the practice field on Thursday.
