Huskers Continue Preparations for Troy State

Lincoln-The University of Nebraska football team practiced for one hour and 40 minutes in cold and windy conditions Monday at Memorial Stadium in preparation for Saturday's 12:30 p.m. game with Troy State.

Head Coach Frank Solich was pleased with the way that the team practiced on Monday.

"We moved around pretty good," Solich said. "I feel really good about the attitude and effort of the team, so we are looking forward to getting out here tomorrow and getting in full pads."

Solich also said that he wasn't surprised by Troy State's win last weekend 33-24 win against Marshall.

"We know that Troy State has very fine athletes they have good team speed. They run the ball very well and are a very physical football team on both sides of the ball," Solich said. "There's a good reason why they have won their last three ball games and why they won their last game. They are playing exceptionally well right now."

Solich also announced that fullback DeAntae Grixby returned to the practice field this afternoon after missing the first four games due to injuries.

"We got DeAntae back out there today, which was good," Solich said. "He moved around pretty well, so that was encouraging. Hopefully he'll have a chance to be ready for this game."

Solich also commented on punter Kyle Larson being recognized as the Big 12 Special Teams player of the week.

"I was really glad to see that Kyle Larson got Big 12 Special Teams player of the week,' Solich said. "He's had a great two years for us, we're really proud of what he has been able to accomplish for us. He's been a big weapon for us in terms of field position and being able to keep teams pinned down."

Saturday's game will be the 259th consecutive sellout at Memorial Stadium, as all tickets that were returned to NU from Troy State have been sold. The Huskers will return to the practice field on Tuesday in full pads
