Husker Baseball Picnic Set for Saturday

Lincoln - Fans will have their first chance to meet the 2004 Husker baseball team this Saturday, Sept. 27, as the Husker Home Run Club is sponsoring a picnic at Hawks Field. Fans can watch Saturday's 10 a.m. practice and stay for the picnic and to talk baseball with Coach Anderson and the 2004 Huskers.

The cost of the lunch is $5 and all kids will receive 2003 Husker baseball trading cards, sponsored by Cook's Ham and the Lancaster County Sheriff's Office, while supplies last. In addition, membership information on the Husker Home Run Club will be available.

The Huskers began fall drills on Sept. 15, and practices will continue until the annual Red/White Series, which is tentatively set for the week of Oct. 6-12. For more information on Saturday's practice/picnic, contact the Nebraska Baseball Office at (402) 472-2269 or log on to the Husker Home Run Club's web site at Huskerhomerunclub.com.
