Huskers Continue Preparation for USU

Lincoln -- The Nebraska football team continued preparations for its 11:40 a.m. kickoff against Utah State (Sept. 6), as it worked through more than two hours of practice in full pads on the Memorial Stadium turf Tuesday. Nebraska head coach Frank Solich said the Huskers were, "a little tired, but they worked their way through it."

Solich said the Huskers came out of their first contest of the year relatively healthy, although he did confirm that senior place-kicker Dale Endorf will miss the remainder of the season after sustaining an injury against Oklahoma State on Saturday.

"Dale Endorf will be out for the year with a knee injury," Solich said. "Dale, at the end of last season, really stepped up under pressure and did a great job. He has a very strong leg and was doing very well. We expected him to be very much a part of what we were doing this year. That is a blow to us."

Solich also said that Blake Tiedtke, a sophomore safety, will miss several weeks with a knee injury.

Earlier in the day, the Huskers released their newest depth chart. While most positions remained the same, two players made a move on the No. 1 spot at wide receiver, as sophomore Mark LeFlore and senior Tim Liley were both listed at the top spot. The move was one that was well-earned, Solich added

"I think Tim did a great job as far as blocking is concerned (Saturday). He really got to those safeties and was able to get us the ability to sustain drives by what he was getting done inside," Solich said. "Of course, Mark has been a guy who has shown athletic ability. What we were looking for was some consistency, and he's starting to show that consistency now. So it's a deserved move."

The Huskers will practice again on Wednesday afternoon before tapering down and putting final touches on the game plan on Thursday.
