Leise Named Preseason All-American

Nebraska senior Jeff Leise was selected as a second-team All-American, as Collegiate Baseall released its preseason All-America team and its preseason Top 40 on Dec. 23. The senior from Omaha, Neb., batted .371 with 12 homers and 51 RBIs, while also ranking among the Big 12 leaders wih 25 stolen bases. The Huskers, coming off a 47-21 season and the school's second straight CWS appearance, was selected 22nd in the preseason poll. The Huskers open the 2003 season on Feb. 14, when they travel to Round Rock, Texas, for the Express College Classic.
