Lincoln-The Nebraska swimming and diving team looks to get into the win column for the first time this season when the Huskers playing host Truman State on Saturday Oct. 19, at 2 p.m. at the Bob Devaney Sports Center Pool.
The Huskers, 0-3 in dual action on the season, are coming off a tough weekend. NU fell at home to Texas on Oct. 10, before finishing sixth at the 2002 Big 12 Relays on Oct. 11. NU also was defeated by Texas A&M and Missouri in a double-dual on Oct. 12.
Nebraska will be facing Truman State, the defending national champions in NCAA Division II, for the first time in school history. The Huskers will look to keep alive a 16-0 all-time streak against non-NCAA Division I teams.
The dual also marks the first competition of the season for the Bulldogs, who return 21 letterwinners from their 2002 squad. .
The Bulldogs feature a pair of Nebraskans on their roster. Sophomore Sarah Dance is a Lincoln native, and fellow sophomore Megan Losee is from Omaha.
The Huskers and the Bulldogs have a common opponent in Nebraska-Omaha. Truman State will face the Mavericks on Nov. 9 and Dec. 6, while the Huskers will take on UNO on Jan. 31 in Omaha.
Following the meet with Truman State, the Huskers continue their homestand on Oct. 24 against Nevada before hosting the Sprint Classic on Oct. 25 and the Husker Invitational on Oct. 26.
