Husker Women Head to Oklahoma for Sectionals

Lincoln, Neb. - The University of Nebraska women's bowling team will be in Oklahoma City, Okla., this weekend to compete at the Intercollegiate Bowling Sectionals. The tournament is the last stop on the way to the national championships in Buffalo, N.Y. The top four finishers in each of the four regions will qualify for nationals. Last year, the Huskers took third place at the sectionals tournament before going on to win their second national championship in three years.

Nebraska already has a school-record seven first-place finishes during the 2001-02 season and has not finished lower than second-place this year. The Huskers will be looking to take that success with them into the sectionals and as they compete for their third national title in four years and their second consecutive title.

The Huskers will compete March 23-24 in Oklahoma City, Okla. The tournament will begin at 9 a.m.
