Latham Scores Two as Husker Soccer Team Tops Clemson

Atlanta, Ga. -- Nebraska forward Christine Latham scored two goals as the Husker soccer team defeated Clemson, 5-4, opening its spring season at Emory University on Friday. Latham, who will be a junior next fall, notched the Huskers' first and last goals. The Calgary, Alberta, native led the Big 12 Conference last fall with 57 points on 23 goals and 11 assists.

Also scoring for Nebraska was forward Becky Preston, forward Marie-Claude Henry and midfielder Kori Saunders. Clemson finished the 2000 season ranked fifth, while the Huskers finished at No. 9.

Nebraska will return to action at noon on Sunday at Emory University against the Women's United Soccer Association's Atlanta Beat and former NU defender Sharolta Nonen.
