Walker Leads Husker Swimming and Diving Team

Minneapolis -- Junior Susan Walker touched the wall in 4:38.20 to claim 21st place in the 400-yard individual medley, as the Nebraska swimming and diving team remains in tenth place at the 12-team Minnesota Invitational.

Walker, who bested her preliminary time of 4:41.56 in the event, came within 2.51 seconds of setting a new personal best in the event.

In the 200-yard freestyle, Walker again led the Huskers as she touched the wall in 2:01.04, placing her 53rd out of 82 competitors. Senior Yasmin Saad placed 63rd in the event (2:03.14).

Notre Dame continues to lead the field with 714 points. Wisconsin (627) and host Minnesota (433) remain second and third, respectively.

Racing continues Sunday starting at 10 a.m.
