Lincoln, NE--The Nebraska women's tennis team finished the 2000-01 tennis season ranked No. 53. The No. 53 ranking beats last years ranking of No. 58 to become the teams highest finish in school history.
Nebraska began the season with a preseason ranking of No. 59. As the season progressed the Huskers steadily moved up the rankings. Towards the end of the season NU peaked at No. 39, which was the highest any Husker tennis team ever has been ranked.
Nebraska should start the 2001-02 season ranked in the preseason returning all players but senior Ndali Ijomah.
