Lincoln, Neb. - Nebraska junior quarterback Eric Crouch underwent successful arthroscopic right shoulder surgery at the Alabama Sports Medicine Center at Healthsouth in Birmingham, Ala., this morning. Well-known orthopedic surgeon Dr. James Andrews performed the surgery. He was assisted by one of Nebraska's team physician's, Dr. Robert Dugas. Doctors repaired a small labral tear in Crouch's right shoulder and did an arthroscopic tightening of the shoulder. The tightening was necessary due to the minimal laxity from years of throwing.
Crouch has an excellent prognosis for his fall senior season, but is expected to be held out of spring drills.
Head Football Coach Frank Solich said, "I visited with Dr. Andrews this morning and he said the arthroscope went exceptionally well. He expects Eric to make a full recovery."
