Topeka, Kan. -- The Nebraska women's varsity bowling team and the men's club team won the Midstates Invitational in Topeka, Kansas this weekend with scores of 14,058 and 15,086, respectively. Both teams are 2-0 in the fall season.
Two freshmen led the way for the Huskers. Freshman Shannon Pluhowsky from Phoenix, Ariz., won the tournament with a 228 average while redshirt freshman Suzanne Medwell from Melbourne, Australia received 4th place with a 201 average.
The next competition for the women's team is the Brunswick Southern Classic on November 4-5 in Atlanta, Ga., and both teams will see action November 11-12 in Chicago, Ill.
