Two Huskers Earn NRA All-America Honors

Lexington, Va. - Two members of the Nebraska rifle team were honored by the National Rifle Association at a banquet in Lexington, Va., on Saturday. Freshman Nicole Allaire, who hails from Kearny, N.J., was named an NRA First-Team All-American in both the air rifle and smallbore rifle. Allaire won the individual title in the smallbore on Friday at the NCAA Championships, firing a season-high 1,183 out of 1,200 and placed 15th (383) in the air rifle. She fired a personal-best score in the air rifle of 396 on Feb. 13th against Ohio State in Columbus.

Fellow freshman Amanda Trujillo, who hails from Brush, Colo., was named an NRA Second-Team All-American in both air and smallbore rifles. On Friday, Trujillo competed in the individual smallbore competition finishing seventh with a 1,163.

The NRA chose 10 members for each of the four teams based on scores attained in collegiate competition throughout the year.
