Huskers Open Big 12 Action Against The Longhorns

Lincoln - The Nebraska Women's tennis team opens conference play this Saturday, Feb. 12, against the defending Big 12 Champion Texas Longhorns at the Woods Tennis Center at 10 a.m. The Huskers are 1-0 after a victory last weekend against Eastern Michigan 7-2.

Texas is currently ranked 9th in the nation by the Intercolligiate Tennis Association (ITA). Texas is also riding a 97-game conference win streak that dates back to 1991. Texas has won all three Big-12 Conference titles, and has won 8 consecutive conference titles dating back to the old Southwestern Conference. The last time these two teams met, Texas defeated Nebraska 5-4 (Feb. 28) in Austin.
