Lincoln -- Michelle Brooks, a member of the Nebraska women's cross country team, was named to the All-Big 12 Conference team after her performance at the Big 12 Championships in College Station, Texas, on Oct. 30. The top nine finishers in both the men's and women's race were honored by the conference earlier this week.

Kansas State's Amy Mortimer garnered Newcomer-of-the-Year honors on the women's side while Jorge Torres from Colorado earned the men's award. Colorado's Mark Wetmore was voted the 1999 Big 12 Men's and Women's Coach-of-the-Year by his peers after leading his men's team to a fourth straight Big 12 title and his third women's championship.
