Lincoln - Nebraska Head Track and Field Coach Gary Pepin was named the United States Track Coaches Association Midwest Regional Men's Coach of the Year Friday. As the regional coach of the year, Pepin is a finalist for the National Coach of the Year award which will be announced Friday, June 4.
Pepin, in his 16th season at the helm of the men's squad, earned the award after leading the Husker men to a second-place finish at the Big 12 Championships in Waco, Texas, last week after finishing fourth during the indoor season. Pepin will take six men and six women to the NCAA Track and Field Championships on the campus of Boise State in
