U-Stop Joins in to Help Tornado Victims on Saturday

Lincoln - Whitehead Oil and all of its Lincoln-based U-STOPs are stepping up to the plate again. Not only is U-Stop the title sponsor of this weekend's final home baseball series with Kansas State. But they are also hitting a grand slam for Tornado victims in Oklahoma.

In conjunction with the Huskers, U-STOP will match dollar-for-dollar up to $1,000, the amount raised at Saturday's 2 p.m. game. U-STOP is providing to fans, free of charge, 5,000 tickets to any of the three weekend games with KSU. Fans who pick up tickets at a U-STOP with a fill-up of gas, will receive free admission, and will have access to a reserved section at "The Buck."

NU baseball coach Dave Van Horn said, "We appreciate U-STOP's efforts to not only help get fans in the stands, but also assisting the tornado victims in Oklahoma. We hope fans will come out to support our team this weekend."

The Huskers will donate all of Saturday's gate proceeds to Oklahoma tornado victims. Fans will be admitted free with a suggested $2 donation at the gate.

This weekend is a crucial one for the Husker baseball team, which is looking for an NCAA bid. Friday's game with K-State begins at 7 p.m., Saturday's game (Parent's Day) begins at 2 p.m. and the third game of the series and final home game of the season begins at 1 p.m. U-STOP is the title sponsor of all three games, while donations at the gate for tornado victims will be accepted on Saturday only. Fans can also donate by stopping at donation buckets on Avery Avenue at The Buck, giving directly at NBC, or buying a Lincoln Journal Star Saturday newsstand paper (25 cents donated off each paper).
