Philadelphia, Pa. - Nebraska's Dalhia Ingram notched a third-place finish in the long jump Thursday in the championship division of the 105th Annual Penn Relays. Ingram jumped 20-6 on her first jump and held her lead through the first five rounds before Pittsburgh's Trecia Smith won the event on her final jump with a mark of 20-8 1/2. Monique Freeman of LSU took second with a jump of 20-6.
Ingram, a junior from Liberal, Kan., followed up with a fourth-place finish in Friday's triple jump competition, posting an NCAA provisional qualifying mark of 42-2, which is 4 3/4 inches off her outdoor season-best leap of 42-6 3/4 that she posted at the Jim Click Shootout on March 27.
Saturday, Shane Lavy took third place in the championship division of the high jump, with an NCAA provisional mark of 7-3. He finished behind defending indoor national champion Mark Boswell of Texas, who cleared 7-4 1/2. Sheldon Hutchinson, freshman from Gaithersburg, Md., posted a fifth-place finish in the championship division of the men's triple jump, turning in a mark of 50-10 1/4. Levar Anderson of LSU won the event with a jump of 54-2 3/4.
