Dallas, Texas- University of Nebraska center Venson Hamilton has been selected Phillips 66 Big 12 Player of the Week after averaging 21 points and 9.5 rebounds in a pair of Husker victories last week.
Hamilton opened the week with his seventh double-double of the season scoring 17 points and pulling down 12 rebounds in the 70-61 win against Kansas State. He answered that with 25 points and seven rebounds in the Huskers' 68-55 win at Baylor. His 25 points were one shy of his personal-best 26 against Washington State earlier this season.
Hamilton leads the Big 12 in rebounding, averaging 9.9 bords per game and is 11th in the league in scoring at 13.9 ppg. Hamilton, Nebraska's all-time leading rebounder, reached yet another milestone last week becoming the 30th player at a Big 12 school to score 1,000 points and grab 900 rebounds for his career.
