Huskers Finish Second at Iowa
The 10th-ranked Huskers finished second in a triangular meet at Iowa on Feb. 21. Iowa took first with a 230.625, bettering the Huskers' score of 230.125. Oklahoma finished a distant third (226.425).

The Huskers and the Hawkeyes posted the top two scores in the nation this season. The Huskers were led by freshman Jason Hardabura and senior Bill Mulholland. Hardabura scored a career-best score of 57.30 to finish second in the all-around, including a second-place finish on the horizontal bar (9.825). Mulholland finished with a 57.025, marking the fifth time in his career he scored a 57 or higher in competition, to finish third in the all-around. The senior from North Plainfield, N.J., scored a 9.4 or higher in all six events, including a third-place tie on the pommel horse (9.70).

Other top individual finishers included sophomore Derek Leiter, who finished first on the vault with a career-best score of 9.80 and placed third on parallel bars with a 9.75 and junior Marshall Nelson, who finished with a career-best all-around score with 56.925, including a second-place finish on vault (9.80) and a third-place finish on pommel horse (9.70). All five of the Huskers' all-arounders scored a 56 or higher against the Hawkeyes and Sooners.
