Troy Leads Huskers to Sixth-Place Finish
The squad finished with a three-round score of 931, eight strokes ahead of SW Missouri State and Illinois who tied for seventh. Kansas took home the championship with a total score of 899.
Five strokes back of Troy was junior Seth Porter who carded a 229 to tie for 16th place. Sophomore Rob Arthur fired a 239 to finish in a tie for 39th, while fellow sophomore Ryan Cooley shot a 244 for a 61st-place finish. Sophomore Blake Humbles shot a three-round score of 245 for a 63rd-place finish. Rounding out the Husker scoring was sophomore Marty Smith with a 248 to finish in 70th. Smith tied Troy for the low NU round of the day with a 76.
Kansas' Travis Hurst grabbed the individual title with a total score of 213.
The Huskers will participate next in the Husker campaign is the Bearkat Classic in Houston, Texas on April 2-3.
