Omaha, Neb. -- Shane Komine threw five scoreless innings in his first start since April 5, while Will Bolt and Jeff Leise drove in two runs apiece in a five-run eighth, as No. 13 Nebraska thrilled the third-largest regular-season crowd in NCAA history with a 9-1 win over Creighton at Rosenblatt Stadium Wednesday evening.
Komine combined with freshman Phil Shirek on a four-hitter, as the Huskers, who have won five straight, improved to 36-17 on the season with the win. The Honolulu, Hawaii, native went the first five innings, allowing two singles and striking out seven to improve to 6-0 on the season.
In his last two appearances since missing over a month with elbow tendinitis, the two-time All-American has allowed just three hits - all singles - in eight scoreless innings, lowering his ERA to 1.84.
