By NU Athletic Communications

Lincoln -- Nebraska claimed 10 track and field event titles, and five Huskers recorded NCAA provisional marks Saturday in the first home meet at Ed Weir Stadium in three years. More than 800 athletes from 20 teams, including some of the nation's top post-collegians, competed Saturday at the Husker Open in front of 3,600 fans.

"It was really nice to be at home and have so many people here," Nebraska Head Coach Gary Pepin said. "All-in-all, this meet turned out pretty good. I was glad we had good weather."

Senior Cory Lehman, junior Jessica Thompson, junior Melissa Price, junior Erin Wibbels and redshirt freshman Leann Boerema led the way for NU, posting provisional marks in their respective events. Lehman won the javelin with a mark of 221-1 - his second provisional qualifying mark of the season. In the shot put, Husker Boerema finished third overall and first among collegiate competitors with a provisional mark of 49-8
