The Huskers (7-0 overall and 4-0 in the Big 12) scored on every possession in the first half en route to a 52-0 halftime lead, as I-back Dan Alexander rushed for 104 yards and two touchdowns on just 14 carries, all in the first half.

Nebraska rushed for 459 yards on the day, including 308 yards in the first half, averaging more than 10 yards per carry in the half.

The Huskers jumped out early, as cornerback Keyuo Craver blocked an Adam Stiles punt and recovering it in the end zone for a score, giving NU a 7-0 lead just 1:57 into the contest. On the Huskers' first offensive series, Alexander capped a two-play, 45-yard drive with a 15-yard touchdown run.

On Baylor's next possession, Kyle Vanden Bosch forced a fumble by Baylor quarterback Kerry Dixon, which Jeremy Slechta recovered at the Bear 15-yard line, setting up Alexander's second TD of the day, a 2-yard run to give NU a 21-point advantage 5:37 into the game.

After a Josh Brown field goal, quarterback Eric Crouch continued the Husker outburst with a 14-yard scoring run with 3:51 remaining in the first quarter before Correll Buckhalter raced 36 yards for the fifth Husker TD of the quarter. Buckhalter rushed for 76 yards on six first-half carries.

Crouch ran for 46 yards and a score, while also throwing for 23 yards in less than two quarters of action. The junior from Omaha played in five series, leading the Huskers to four touchdowns and a field goal, scoring from 14 yards to give NU a 31-0 advantage before he exited the game.

With today's victory, the Huskers clinched their 39th consecutive winning season, the longest current streak in the NCAA. The Huskers streak is second only to Alabama, which had 42 consecutive winning seasons from 1889 to 1932.

The Huskers travel to Norman, Okla., for a showdown with the No. 3(AP)/4(Coaches) Sooners next Saturday, as the game will be televised nationally by ABC at 11 a.m. (CDT).
