Lincoln ? Nebraska was among the 205 collegiate and high school volleyball programs to receive the 2002-03 AVCA Team Academic Award named by the American Volleyball Coaches Association. The Huskers have won the award nine times, including twice in the past three years.
Nebraska and Morehead State have won the AVCA honor a nation-best nine out of the 11years in which the award has been given. NU was one of two Big 12 Conference volleyball programs recognized this year, joining Kansas State.
The AVCA Team Academic Award, initiated during the 1992-93 academic year, honors college and high school teams that displayed excellence in the classroom by maintaining at least a 3.30 cumulative team grade-point average on a 4.00 scale and a 4.10 cumulative team GPA on a 5.00 scale. Nominating head coaches must be AVCA members.
Recipients of the award range from NCAA Division I institutions to high school girls
