Lincoln -- Senior shortstop Amanda Buchholz hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the fifth inning Wednesday night to lead the sixth-ranked Nebraska softball team to a 5-2 win over in-state rival Creighton before 502 fans at Bowlin Stadium. With the win, the Huskers improved to 23-7 on the season.

 

The score was tied 2-2 after the top of the fifth when Buchholz ripped the 1-0 pitch from CU starter Kristan Melton over the left-field fence for her team-leading eighth home run of the season.
