Huskers 12th After Day One of Minnesota Invitational - Huskers.com - Nebraska Athletics Official Web Site

Minneapolis-The University of Nebraska swimming and diving team is tied for 12th place (20 points) with Tennessee after day one Friday of the 2002 Minnesota Invitational. Wisconsin leads the team race with 273 points, while Missouri is second (178).

 

Junior Angie Matheu  was the top performer for the Huskers, as she  took third in the B final (24.30) and 11th overall in the 50-yard freestyle.

 

Freshman Alex King was the only other Husker individual competing Friday night. King finished seventh in the C final of the 500-yard free, touching the wall in 5:10.66 (5:08.00p) and placed 23rd overall.

 

Two Nebraska relays also competed Friday night, with the 200-yard free relay (Matheu, Kate Dulgar, Danielle Erickson, King) touching the wall in 1:39.55. NU
