2019 (Senior)

Anton Stephenson capped one of the most outstanding careers in the recent history of the Nebraska's men's gymnastics program by capturing a pair of All-America honors and being named the Big Ten Co-Gymnast of the Year in 2019. Stephenson claimed his third consecutive Big Ten vault title before finishing third on the event at the 2019 NCAA Championships. He added a second All-America award with a seventh-place finish in the all-around to help Nebraska to a third-place team finish at the NCAA Championships. A four-time All-American and a four-time Big Ten champion in his career, Stephenson was one of eight finalists nationally for the Nissen-Emery Award in 2019, presented to the country's top gymnast. In addition to his success in the gym, Stephenson was one of the Big Ten's most highly regarded student-athletes. A Big Ten Medal of Honor recipient after being named Nebraska's Male Student-Athlete of the Year., Stephenson captured both the Wayne Duke Postgraduate Scholarship and a Big Ten Postgraduate Scholarship from the conference. The three-time Academic All-Big Ten selection was also on track to be a three-time Big Ten Distinguished Scholar and was a CoSIDA Academic All-District VII selection. Stephenson also received Google Cloud First Team Academic All-America honors. He carried better than a 3.9 cumulative GPA as a nutrition and health sciences major. He was also a four-time Tom Osborne Citizenship Team selection for his contributions to the Lincoln community. 

2018 (Junior)

A 2018 NCAA vault runner-up, Stephenson claimed his second consecutive Big Ten vault title while adding a conference crown on parallel bars. He capped an outstanding conference meet by earning runner-up on floor exercise at the Big Ten Championships. Stephenson helped the Huskers to a fifth-place team finish at the NCAA Championships. In addition to notching his second All-American honor and his third Big Ten individual title, Stephenson was named a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar and an Academic All-Big Ten selection for the second consecutive year. He also was named a prestigious Sam Foltz Hero 27 Leadership Award recipient for his contributions to the community. 

2017 (Sophomore)
Stephenson overcame an early-season injury to win the Big Ten vault title for the first time. He became Nebraska's first individual conference champion since 2002. He added a third-place conference finish in the all-around. At the NCAA Championships, Stephenson scored a season-best 82.70 in the all-around to help Nebraska advance to the team finals for the first time since 1999. Stephenson finished his sophomore season with seven individual regular-season titles and earned both Nebraska's Hardest Worker Award and Husker Power Lifter of the Year Award. 

Along with earning All-Big Ten honors in the gym and in the classroom, Stephenson was named a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar. Additionally, he participated in the Nebraska Life Skills No Filter Service Trip to Nicaragua in May 2017. 

2016 (Freshman)

Stephenson quickly became one of NU's top competitors and only true all-arounder in 2016. He notched scores over 15.00 on floor, vault, and parallel bars and set the school record in the all-around with a score of 88.90. He also claimed six individual titles and was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week three times, becoming the first Husker men's gymnast to win the award. Stephenson advanced to the Big Ten Finals on vault and parallel bars. At the NCAA Championships, he helped the team to a seventh-place finish by advancing to the finals on parallel bars to claim his first All-America award with a seventh-place finish. He was one of two Huskers to compete at the 2016 Winter Cup in Las Vegas. 

Before Nebraska
Stephenson trained at Deveau's School of Gymnastics under Coach Chad Ford. Stephenson took third in the all-around at the 2015 Junior Olympic Men's Regionals and won the vault and parallel bars. At the 2015 Windy City Invitational, he took first on vault and parallel bars. In 2014, Stephenson competed at the BlackJack Men's Championship where he took home titles on floor and parallel bars. He also placed third on vault and claimed second place in the all-around. He graduated from Hamilton Southeastern in 2015. 

Personal
Anton is the son of Greg and Kim Stephenson. He was born on Oct. 18, 1996. He is the brother of Chris Stephenson, who is a former All-American gymnast at Nebraska. He has one sister, Andrea and another brother Julian. Anton graduated in August 2019 with a degree in nutrition and health sciences. He was an eight-time member of the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll.
