Featuring one of the most innovative and comprehensive academic support systems in the nation, Nebraska Athletics is dedicated to helping student-athletes achieve excellence in academics, athletics and life career preparation.

Nebraska leads NCAA Division I with 354 (and counting) Academic All-Americans, an honor that recognizes student-athletes for their achievements in athletics, academics and the community, reflecting a longstanding history of providing excellent academic services and support.

Lexi Rodriguez (volleyball), Axelina Johansson (women's track and field) and Till Steinforth (men's track and field) added to Nebraska's nation-leading total of 354 Academic All-Americans in 2022-23.

Men's gymnast Anton Stephenson brought home Nebraska's nation-leading 18th NCAA Today's Top Ten Award in 2019, the most prestigious award presented to the best and brightest 10 student-athletes annually, while track and field student-athlete Angela Mercurio was named the NCAA Woman of the Year in 2020.

Led by a seasoned Executive Associate Athletic Director, Dennis LeBlanc, 14 full-time staff members are committed to supporting student-athletes to succeed in the degree major of their choosing. 

Academic Services is hosted in the state-of-the-art Dick and Peg Herman Family Student Life Complex that is open 122 hours each week and is dedicated to academic support. The complex includes a state-of-the-art computer center that provides access to desktop computers installed with specialized software and "tech tables" for collaborations for class projects. A full-time computer technician and student workers are on-hand to assist with any technological issues that student-athletes may encounter. 

Current and incoming student-athletes are provided an Apple MacBook Air to enhance their learning opportunities.

Additional resources are available at the Dick and Peg Herman Student-Life Complex, DJ Sokol Enrichment Center, Scott Technology Center, Abbott Life Skills Center, Papik Compliance Center and Lewis Training Table (all located within the Dick and Peg Herman Family Student Life Complex).

The Athletic Department offers athletic scholarships that will neither be reduced nor canceled for injury or performance provided the student-athlete remains a member in good standing with the community, the University, and the Athletics Department.

The Athletic Department encourages and continues to provide support for scholarship student-athletes' return to Nebraska at any time to complete their undergraduate degree, as long as the student-athlete did not transfer from Nebraska and left in good academic standing.

Husker student-athletes across all sports posted a cumulative GPA of 3.370 in the spring of 2023 - the highest GPA in Nebraska history.

Nebraska leads the nation with 354 CSC Academic All-Americans, including Lexi Rodriguez (volleyball), Axelina Johansson (women's track and field) and Till Steinforth (men's track and field) in 2022-23.

Nebraska leads the nation with 18 NCAA Today's Top Ten Award recipients, while the Husker football team's nine honorees is the most by any single program in the nation. Anton Stephenson (men's gymnastics) became Nebraska's most recent honoree in December of 2019.

Nebraska posted an NCAA Graduation Success Rate (GSR) of 94 percent in 2023 - matching the highest mark in school history for the second consecutive year. Nebraska's GSR is the second highest in the nation among 110 public FBS institutions.

For the 2022-23 academic year, the men's tennis and women's cross country teams posted the highest GPA to earn the prestigious Herman Award. 

A total of 11 Husker student-athletes earned the 1A Far Academic Excellence Award in 2023, awarded to student-athletes that graduated with a 3.80 cumulative GPA or higher.

110 Husker student-athletes earned their degrees in either December of 2022, May of 2023 or August of 2023. A total of 6,864 Husker varsity athletic letter winners have earned degrees from Nebraska in school history.

Nebraska had 296 student-athletes earn Academic All-Big Ten recognition during the 2022-23 academic year.

A total of 99 Huskers earned Big Ten Conference Distinguished Scholar recognition during the 2022-23 academic year.

A total of 842 student-athletes were honored on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll in the fall of 2022 or spring of 2023 semesters for earning a 3.0 or better term GPA.

Husker student-athletes combined for a 147 perfect 4.00 GPA semesters in 2022-23.
