Regular Season
Sean Murphy went 4-4 in two open tournament appearances. He went 1-2 at the Daktronics Open and 3-2 at the Nebraska-Kearney Holiday Inn Open.
2014-15 (Redshirt)
Regular Season
Murphy saw action in six open tournaments and compiled a 4-12 record at 133 pounds. His best showing was a 3-2 performance at the Bob Smith Open, where he recorded a technical fall.
Before Nebraska
Murphy earned top-three finishes at the Class A state tournament during his last two seasons at Red River High School in North Dakota. In 2013, he took runner-up honors before finishing third as a senior in 2014. An honor student, Murphy was named EDC Senior Wrestler of the Year and made the academic all-state team on three occasions. During the club season, Murphy competed for the Warrior Wrestling Club under Coach Bruce Moe.
Personal
Sean is the son of Eric and Cindy Murphy, and has two siblings, Catherine and Cameron. Sean was born on Nov. 29, 1995, and is majoring in biochemistry at Nebraska.
