Senior (2005-06)
Sara Sackett was a senior leader on one of the most successful teams in Nebraska women's golf history in 2005-06. The Cambridge, Neb., native produced an impressive 77.56 stroke average on the year, while notching four top-15 individual tournament finishes.

Sackett opened her senior season strong with a career-best 71 in the final round of the Ptarmigan Ram Fall Classic to tie for 25th (225). She then helped the Huskers to a Chip-N Club Invitational title with a career-best second-place showing with a career-best 223 in NU's second fall tournament.

She continued her consistent performance by tying for 12th (225) at the Marilynn Smith/Sunflower Invitational, before settling for a tie for 28th (230) at the Lady Razorback Invitational despite three more solid rounds. She may have had her most impressive effort at the prestigious Edwin Watts/Palmetto Invitational, where she tied for fourth with a 224, giving her 15 rounds of 78 or better to open her senior season.

She struggled at the Baja Invitational to open the spring season, but bounced back to tie for 11th (226) at the Central District Invitational in late February.

Sackett finished 43rd (240) at the Big 12 Championships, but Nebraska's seventh-place finish was good enough to help the Huskers qualify for an NCAA Central Regional bid. Sackett tied for 71st (240) at the Traditions Club in Bryan, Texas, helping NU claim its third team appearance in history at the NCAA Championships.

At the national tournament, Sackett performed well, overcoming an opening-round 81 to battle back with rounds of 77, 76 and 75 to tie for 79th place individually with a 309. Her four-round total matched teammate Elli Brown for the fifth-best score by a Husker at the NCAA Championships.

A solid performer in the classroom as well, Sackett earned the third academic All-Big 12 award of her career.

Junior (2004-05)
As one of Nebraska's top performers in the 2004-05 season, Sackett finished with a 79.85 stroke average over 20 rounds. Sackett also found herself in the top 20 twice and once in the top 10.

Sackett opened the season with an impressive performance at the Chip-N Club Invitational, Sept. 19-20 in Lincoln. Sackett shot a 238 (76-79-83) and earned a career-best seventh-place finish.

At the Edwin Watts/Palmetto Intercollegiate in Kiawah Island, S.C., Nov. 1-2, Sackett produced a season-low score of 224, matching the score she produced a year earlier at the same tournament. Sackett also recorded a single-round season-best score of 72 in the final round and finished the event in a tie for 19th place.

Sackett closed the season at the Big 12 Championships in Lubbock, Texas, April 22-24 in a tie for 38th with fellow Husker Jackie Beste. Sackett finished at 241, closing the tournament with a final-round 78.

Sophomore (2003-04)

She produced two top-15 finishes, including a tie for 10th at the Chip-N Club Invitational (82-76-75-233), before posting a season-low three-round total of 231 at the Mountain View Collegiate, where she added a season-best second-round score of 74. She managed a 12th-place finish at the Highlands Ranch Intercollegiate. She added first-team academic All-Big 12 honors.

Sackett redshirted to make swing adjustments after playing as a true freshman in 2001-02.

Freshman (2001-02)

High School/Amateur
A two-time PGA Junior Series Champion at Lochland Country Club, Sackett advanced to Junior PGA Nationals in 2000 at Palm Beach, Fla., placing 20th. At Cambridge High School, Sackett competed with boys because the NSAA did not sponsor girls golf in Class C-2. As a junior, she became the first girl in boys state tournament history to medal with an eighth-place finish. She tied for 16th as a senior. She also competed on the Cambridge basketball team that qualified for the state tournament.
