Huskers Earn Three Titles at Prairie Wolf Indoor Invitational

Nebraska track and field earned three event titles on Friday night’s Prairie Wolf Indoor Invitational, hosted at the Devaney Center Indoor Track.

LaQwasia Stepney secured the 60m hurdles win in 8.73 after setting a meet record (8.68) in the prelim. Favour Wanjoku placed second with a personal-best 8.92.

Rebecca Pecora claimed the long jump win with a distance of 18-09 3/4 (5.73m), while Wanjoku took third with a 18-07 1/4 (5.67m).

In the men’s weight throw, Josh Marcy finished first with a distance of 63-11 (19.48m). Seth Schnackenberg placed third with a PR throw of 59-06 3/4 (18.15m). Ariel Ammentorp took fourth in the women’s weight throw with a mark of 59-05 1/2 (18.12m).

Sage Burbach was Nebraska’s top finisher in the women’s shot put, taking second with a 44-09 1/2 (13.65m). In the men’s shot put, Tyler Brown added a runner-up finish with a mark of 52-05 1/4 (15.98m). Till Steinforth placed fifth with a throw of 45-06 1/2 (13.88m).

Seth Baylus ran to third in the 200m with a PR 22.16 and sixth in the men’s 60m, clocking a 7.01. In the women’s 400m, Marie Pfannenstiel ran a personal-best 1:00.16 to take sixth.

Steinforth (6-7, 2.01m) and Ashriel Dixon (6-5, 1.96m) earned top-five high jump finishes, placing fourth and fifth.

The full team competes tomorrow at the Mark Colligan Memorial, with field events starting at 10:45 a.m. (CT) and running events starting at 12 p.m. (CT) at the Devaney Center Indoor Track.
