2017: Ben Miller completed his Husker career as a .304 hitter with 241 hits, 43 doubles, 15 home runs and 138 RBIs • His 241 career hits rank 12th all-time at Nebraska • In 2017, he captured the Big Ten Outstanding Sportsmanship Award, which is given to one male and one female student-athlete at each Big Ten school • Was one of 30 candidates for the Senior CLASS Award • Ranked third on the team in batting average (.306), third on the team in doubles (13), third on the team in slugging percentage (.406), tied for second in hits (67), third in on-base percentage (.393), tied for second in RBIs (39) and fourth in home runs (3) • Made 55 starts, 52 of which were at first base • Made three starts on the mound, while serving as the designated hitter • Ranked second on the team in multiple hit games (20), including three four-hit efforts • Had a 24-game on-base streak that spanned from March 18 to April 25 • Career-long 12-game hitting streak spanned from March 28 to April 15 • Tied his career high hits (4) in the Big Ten regular-season title-clinching game at Penn State on May 20 • Went 10-for-13 in the series against Maryland to earn Big Ten Player-of-the-Week honors on April 10, including a 4-for-4 performance against the Terrapins on April 8 • Pitched 2.0 innings against Northern Colorado on March 8 • Earned a win in 3.0 innings against Creighton on April 4 with four strikeouts, and hit a three-run homer in the game • Tossed 3.0 innings against Kansas State on April 11 with two strikeouts.
2016: After hitting .317 with 16 doubles, six home runs and 46 RBIs, Miller was picked in the 32nd round of the 2016 MLB Draft by the Pittsburgh Pirates, but chose to return to Lincoln for his senior season in 2017 • Earned third-team All-Big Ten honors as a designated hitter • Started 58 of NU's 59 games • Posted career highs in eight offensive categories, including batting average (.321), hits (77), doubles (16), home runs (6), RBIs (46), slugging percentage (.463), walks (21) and HBP (7) • Led the team with 25 multi-hit games, including 10 three-hit games, and ranked second on the team with 14 multi-RBI games • After going 0-for-5 in the season opener, reached base in 20 straight games from Feb. 20 to March 25, which tied for the second-longest streak on the team in 2016 • Saw significant time at first base after serving almost exclusively as the team's designated hitter the previous two seasons • Posted a .997 fielding percentage with just one error in 362 chances in 2016 after recording just four fielding chances over his first two seasons.
2015: Miller started 56 of Nebraska's 57 games in 2015 and hit .279 with a team-high tying four home runs • Finished second on the team in both doubles (11) and RBIs (40), and tied for second on the team in hits with 60 • Had 14 multi-hit games, including three games with three hits, and totaled nine multi-RBI games • Had NU's lone five-RBI game of the season in a 2-for-3 performance against BYU on Feb. 21 • Also made four appearances out of the bullpen, tossing a total of 3.0 innings • Hit in 16 of NU's first 18 games with two eight-game hitting streaks • After his second streak was snapped, went on a career-long nine-game hitting streak from March 18 to March 29 • Ended up with a hit in 25 of Nebraska's first 28 games of the season • Was named to the Houston College Classic All-Tournament team after going a combined 4-for-10 against Texas A&M, Hawaii and LSU, with at least one hit in every game • Recorded his first career triple against Florida Gulf Coast on March 15 • After not homering in his first 40 games of the season, hit a home run in three straight games • Fourth home run of the season came at Northwestern on May 3.
2014: Miller played in 41 games as a true freshman, including 29 starts • Was primarily a designated hitter for the Huskers, but also made five appearances on the mound • Hit .316 on the year with three doubles, two home runs and 13 RBIs • Finished the year 0-1 on the mound over 8.1 innings • Worked a one-out walk in the top of the ninth against Binghamton at the NCAA Tournament on May 31 with the Huskers down a run, was pinch run for by Ty Kildow who later scored the game-tying run in an 8-6 comeback win • Had three straight multi-hit games in a three-game sweep over Penn State • Scored a team-high tying five runs in the series and posted an on-base percentage of .667 with no strikeouts • Went 2-for-3 on his 19th birthday at Minnesota with his second homer of the year and a pair of RBIs, his first career multi-RBI game • Made his first career pitching start at Kansas State and struggled, giving up six runs on six hits over 1.1 innings • Launched his first career home run in the third inning of a 5-4 win over Creighton on March 19 • Stepped in as Nebraska's DH in the first game of a doubleheader sweep of No. 25 UC Irvine on March 15 after Michael Pritchard was ejected • Feasted on Anteater pitching by going 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles and three runs scored in a 13-3 win • Produced his first multi-hit game as a Husker, going 2-for-4, including a double, with a pair of runs scored and his first career RBI in a 12-4 win over St. John's on March 7 • Made his debut on the mound against No. 2 Oregon State on Feb. 15 • Gave up one run on two hits over 2.1 innings of relief • Made his Husker debut as the team's DH against Pacific in the season opener on Feb. 14 • Was 1-for-3 with a run scored.
Before Nebraska: Miller played at West Des Moines Valley High School in Clive, Iowa, under Brady Weber where he was named the 2013 Class 4A Player of the Year • Was a first-team Class 4A all-state pick by both the Iowa Newspaper Association and the Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association as a senior • Tabbed as a top-50 left-handed pitcher in the country and the No. 4 overall recruit in the state of Iowa by Perfect Game • Named a 2013 first-team All-Central Region pick by Rawlings after earning high-honorable mention Underclass All-American accolades in 2012 • Was 6-2 on the mound in 2013 with a 1.81 ERA and 35 strikeouts • Allowed just 14 earned runs in 54 innings and only nine walks • Was among the state leaders offensively in batting average (.495), hits (47), doubles (11), walks (32) and RBIs (42) • Led Iowa Select Black to a third-place finish at the 2012 Perfect Game/EvoShield National Championships.
