Husker Soccer Welcomes McKay, Sato

The Nebraska women’s soccer team welcomed two newcomers on March 28, as Anya McKay and Rin Sato join the Huskers for the 2024 season.

Anya McKay played for Coach Mark Newman at Mount Horeb High School in Mount Horeb, Wisconsin. During her high school soccer career, she recorded 48 goals and 10 assists. She was a three-time First-Team All-Conference, an All-State and All-Area Second-Team honoree in 2023 and a three-time team captain. She excels on and off the field, as she was a Magna Cum Laude all four years. On the club side, McKay plays for Coach Giuliano Olivero at SC Wave and has helped the team to the 2023 Playoffs and State Championship, and the 2024 Champions Cup.

Rin Sato

Rin Sato spent two seasons at Barton Community College in Great Bend, Kansas, where she started 21 games, scored two goals, tallied nine assists and took 38 shots. Sato attended Sakuchosei High School, where she helped the team to three state championships and three Regional Best 4 finishes. On the club side, Sato competed for 1FC Kawagoe Water Park Menina where they were three-time State League Champions, two-time State Tournament Champions and two-time Region Best 16. Individually, she was a team captain in 2018, two-time State Representative (2017, 2018) and 2018 Region Representative.
