Technical and Operation Information

The Nebraska Athletics Huskers Radio network utilizes a state of the art I.P. distribution system to send audio and automation contact closures to affiliates.

The on-air call-in/text number for the Huskers Radio Network is: 402-413-2400.

Our affiliate hotline is: 402-413-2444.

I.P. Network Distribution System: Decoder Instructions

Huskers Radio Network sends contact closure tests Monday thru Friday (unless there is other programming at the time of the scheduled test) 

Tests start at the following times...

- NET-1  9:30:00AM Central Time
- NET-2  9:40:00AM Central Time (for stations with a second Barix decoder to recieve NET-2 contact closures)
- NET-3  9:50:00AM Central Time (for stations with a third Barix decoder to recieve NET-3 contact closures)

Each contact closure occurs in this order:

- Local Break (Closure #1)
- Legal ID (Closure #2)
- End Of Game (Closure #3)
- Local Sponsor Liner Insert (Closure #4)

The test cycles through the above sequence several times

We have two levels of affiliate notifications, general updates and urgent notifications. These are distributed using the UNL Listserv system, which is housed in a secure data center with the ability to notify many contacts within seconds.

There may be rare instances where the first game of a doubleheader (DH) is only seven instead of nine innings, that will be noted on our affiliate calendar and in affiliate update emails.

The Softball Format is valid when a game is on NET-1 or NET-2 which will be fully produced with automation contact closures. Softball games on NET-3 or NET-4 will not be produced with automation contact closures.
