2005 Outlook
Lincoln native Travis Gingery will provide depth at the cornerback position during his sophomore season in 2005. Gingery redshirted in his first season with the Huskers and did not see game action a year ago. Gingery was a talented two-sport standout at Lincoln East High School.

Gingery was a backup in the secondary, but did not see game action.

A walk-on athlete, Gingery redshirted in his first season in the program.

Before Nebraska (Lincoln East HS)
Gingery was an all-state fullback for Lincoln East High School and also excelled on the track. He earned super state honors from the Lincoln Journal Star as a fullback for the Spartans, rushing for 750 yards while adding 200 yards receiving. He was also the third-leading tackler in the state, while adding a pair of interceptions from his linebacker position. A two-time all-city selection in football, Gingery added all-city honors on the track.

Personal
The son of John and Kelly Gingery, Travis played for his father at Lincoln East. Travis was born on March 31, 1985, and is majoring in communication studies.
