2006 (Senior)
Mark O’Shea served as a reserve in the <?xml:namespace prefix="st1" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags"?>Nebraska linebacking corps and as a member of the Husker scout team during his Husker career. O’Shea did not see game action as a senior in 2006, after redshirting during the 2005 as a transfer from IonaCollege. O’Shea spent two seasons at Iona, where he played middle linebacker and served on special teams. O’Shea finished his career at Nebraska a year after his older brother, Matt, was a senior defensive lineman for the Huskers. O'Shea redshirted after transferring from Iona College.
Before Nebraska (Jesuit College Prep/Iona)
O'Shea spent two seasons at Iona College in New Rochelle, N.Y., where he played middle linebacker and served on special teams for Coach Fred Mariani. O'Shea started at middle linebacker for Coach Bob Wonderlick at Jesuit College Prep in Dallas. A two-year letterman, O'Shea was also a standout on the track, as he was named the school's top athlete in field events his senior year.
Personal
The son of Arthur A. and Patty O'Shea, Mark was born on May 25, 1984. O'Shea carries a 3.026 cumulative grade-point average. He has twice been named to the Big 12 Commissioner's Spring Academic Honor Roll. O’Shea has volunteered his time with the Lincoln Action Program and "School is Cool" Week. His older brother, Matt, was a defensive lineman for Nebraska and completed his eligibility in 2005.
