On what made him so effective today
“It really just was practicing all week. Knowing and doing my assignment. Executing on the play, and when the play is there just make the play.”

On work ethic in the summer paying off
“When you come here and train, the mentality you have to have is just to be persistent throughout anything. Persistence is just being consistent through trial. I feel like in the summer I made my mind up and said I’m going to do what I have to do to perform on the field. By the grace of God I am able to do that. With the help of my coaches and teammates we can all come together and make plays.”

On what the team shows in tough moments
“We just know how to stay neutral. There’s going to be highs in a game, there’s going to be lows in a game, you just can’t be flustered because something goes wrong, or if something goes right. You have to stay neutral because it’s a 60 minute game, and you don’t know what’s going to happen, so I’m proud of my guys for coming out there and fighting. Me and V9 (Vincent Shavers Jr.) always tell ourselves before practice to fight, and we remind ourselves of that, and we go out there and play."
