1998: Senior Season
Megan Korver captured All-Big 12 honors on the court and in the classroom while claiming third-team CoSIDA Academic All-America honors for the Big Red in 1998. On the court, her season was highlighted by a rare perfect match against Iowa State, becoming just the 11th player in NCAA history to hit 1.000 in a match (with a minimum of 10 kills) with 10 kills on 10 attacks. She finished as one of the top blockers in the country, ranking seventh nationally in blocks per game. She was named to three all-tournament teams, earning honors in the San Diego State, Ohio State and Nebraska's own US Bank Tournament. Korver posted a career-high 23 kills in Nebraska's first meeting with Texas and made tremendous strides defensively with a career-high 18 digs against Texas A&M in Lincoln.
1997: Junior Season
Korver continued to lead the Husker blocking corps, averaging 1.30 blocks per game. She stepped up her play in the conference season, hitting .317 (sixth in the Big 12) and averaging 1.41 blocks (seventh in the Big 12), both team bests. She recorded a career-high 22 kills in a five-game win over Pacific. Korver was second on the team in kills per game (3.02) and led the team with 23 solo blocks. She recorded double-digit kills in 12 of the last 15 matches. During the Huskers' 12-match win streak, Korver boasted a .347 hitting percentage. She had 18 kills and a .481 hitting percentage in a five-game victory over Arkansas. She also earned GTE/CoSIDA Academic All-District and Academic All-Big 12 honors.
1996: Sophomore Season
Korver made an immediate impact in her Husker debut, swatting 16 kills with a then-career-best .682 hitting percentage against Illinois State in the State Farm-NACWAA Classic. She earned Big 12 Newcomer-of-the-Year honors as well as First-Team All-Big 12 and AVCA All-District 5 honors. Korver's 1.53 blocks per game led the Big 12 and ranked 18th nationally. It marked the second consecutive season Korver earned a league newcomer-of-the-year award, earning the 1995 Atlantic 10 Newcomer-of-the-Year honor as a freshman at George Washington University. Her 185 total blocks tied Stephanie Thater (1991) for second on the all-time NU single-season total blocks list. She posted double figures in kills in 18 matches, including a then-career-best 18 against Penn State. She tallied the final tree points of NU's dramatic come-from-behind victory over the Nittany Lions. Korver ranked second on the team with a .307 hitting percentage and third with 2.88 kills per game as Nebraska reached its second consecutive NCAA semifinal appearance. She also earned East Regional All-Tournament accolades. Her .750 hitting percentage against Oklahoma (15k-0e-20ta) was a team season best.
1995: Fresman Season at George Washington
Recruited to walk on by Nebraska, Korver was a scholarship athlete for the Colonials, leading GWU in blocks and finishing second on the team in kills, averaging nearly three per game. She earned Atlantic 10 Newcomer-of-the-Year honors, helping GWU to the Atlantic 10 regular-season and tournament titles. Korver was a member of the Atlantic 10 All-Conference team and led the Colonials to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. On the season, Korver had 168 blocks, 346 kills, hit .214, had 124 digs and 26 service aces. She was also a member of the Dean's List.
High School:
Korver was a Class B First-Team All-State selection by the Omaha-World Herald and Lincoln Journal Star and was a Third-Team Super State pick by the World-Herald. She helped Norris to conference and district championships. She was also a three-year letterwinner in volleyball and basketball. Korver also was a member of the Academic All-State team.
