2023 (Senior)
Despite being sidelined due to an injury, Kathryn Thaler was a leader for Nebraska. Thaler earned the Big Ten Sportsmanship Award for her leader and service to the community. 

2022 (Junior)
Thaler competed consistently on uneven bars and balance beam for the Huskers through the 2022 season. Thaler shared the balance beam title against Ohio State after notching a 9.900. Thaler claimed the balance beam title at the Big Five meet after earning a career-high score 9.950. Thaler finished the season at the Big Ten Championships, competing on uneven bars (9.750) and beam (9.800). 

2021 (Sophomore)
Thaler competed regularly for Nebraska during the 2021 season and finished her year at the NCAA Athens Regional by competing on beam. During the season, Thaler tied a career high with a 9.900 on beam against Rutgers on Feb. 7. She also notched a season-high 9.825 on bars against Michigan State and Ohio State on Jan. 30. Thaler was successful in the classroom, earning Academic All-Big Ten honors. She was also a member of the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team for the second year in a row. 

2020 (Freshman)
Thaler provided solid scores on uneven bars for the Huskers in all nine competitions during the 2020 season. She produced a career high with a 9.850 on bars in a dual win at Michigan State (Jan. 26). She added a 9.825 on bars to help the Huskers to a victory at the Big Five Meet (Feb. 21) in Toledo, Ohio. Early in the season, Thaler also competed well on balance beam, capturing the event title with a career-high 9.900 against Michigan (Jan. 30). She opened her freshman campaign with back-to-back 9.825 scores on beam at BYU (Jan. 6) and Southern Utah (Jan. 9).

Before Nebraska
Thaler trained out of Stars Gymnastics in Houston, Texas where she was named Stars Gymnast of the Year in 2016, 2017 and 2018. Thaler placed fourth on bars at Junior Olympic Nationals in both 2018 and 2019, while adding a seventh-place finish on beam at J.O. Nationals in 2019. She also took 10th in the all-around at nationals in 2019. A four-time J.O. Nationals qualifier, Thaler was a 2018 Texas state champion and finished second in the all-around at regionals in 2019. She was a 2019 graduate of Katy High School.

Personal
The daughter of Tony Seli, Patricia Cole and Scott Cole, Kathryn was born on Oct. 19, 2000 in Houston, Texas. She has an older sister, Grayson, and three brothers, Chandler, Ryan and Tristian. A management major, Kathryn earned her bachelor's degree from Nebraska in May of 2023. She claimed Academic All-Big Ten honors in 2021 and 2023. She was a four-time Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll selection and a four-time member of the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team.
